A session with child 0-6 and their family lasts for about an hour to an hour and a half. The first 10 minutes is an opportunity to discuss goals and priorities, and this is followed by a ‘Ling sound check’ (checking the effectiveness of technologies including hearing aids, and the child's access to hearing and understanding speech sounds). The main part of the session looks at how we can achieve the goals using play based routines and will always include a book for part of this session. The final 10 minutes focuses on ‘take home messages’, summarising what has been learnt in the session and how to embed the strategies into the family’s everyday routines until the next visit.
There are a range of options for where to hold the session, depending on individual needs and preferences. Some families prefer me to visit in the home, others find that a remote session works equally well through an online platform such as FaceTime or Zoom. There is also the option to travel to my home and use my upstairs space for sessions.
Please contact me for a full price list. Costs will be lower if you are able to travel to my home or if you opt for remote sessions but if you are not able to pay full prices you may be able to apply for funding. I can signpost you to relevant organisations and support your application.
